Bobcats Skiers Fifth at Utah Invite

Freshmen Matilda Joensson and Zanden McMullen paced the Bobcat Nordic teams during the second day of the Utah Invitational on Saturday morning at Soldier Hollow.
SOLDIER HOLLOW, Utah – Freshmen Matilda Joensson and Zanden McMullen paced the Bobcat Nordic teams during the second day of the Utah Invitational on Saturday morning at Soldier Hollow.
Joensson, a product of Lulea, Sweden, led the Bobcats in the 10-kilometer classic placing 11th in a time of 27:54. 7. She was followed by teammates Anna Fake, 12th, 28:07.5, Emma Tarbath, 13th, 28:16.4, Kat O'Connell, 28:29.8, and Aubrey Leclair, 21st, 29:11.0.
Utah's Guro Jordheim won the women's race in 27:15.9.
McMullen paced the MSU men's team finishing 13th in a time of 24:14.1. He was followed by Reed Godfrey, 16th, 24:32.9, Eli Jensen, 20th, 24:44.1, and Eli Hermanson, 32nd, 26:33.9.
Utah's Maximilan Bie captured the men's event in 23:27.7.
After four events, Utah remains atop the team standing with 387 points. The Utes are followed by Alaska Anchorage 317, Denver 282.5, Colorado 265.5, MSU 237, Alaska Fairbanks 195, and Wyoming 132.
