MSU’s McMullen Places Fourth in Classic at Denver Invitational

Montana State freshman Zanden McMullen placed fourth in the men’s 10-km classic at the Denver Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Maloit Park.
MINTURN, Colo. – Montana State freshman Zanden McMullen placed fourth in the men's 10-km classic at the Denver Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Maloit Park. The product of Anchorage, Alaska covered the course in 30:44.3 to pace the Bobcats, who sit in fourth place after six events.
McMullen was followed by teammates Eli Jensen, 19th, 32:17.7, Reed Godfrey, 32:24.2, and Eli Hermanson, 27th, 33:37.1.
Colorado's Magnus Boee captured the men's classic title in 28:52.4.
The Bobcat women were led by Emma Tarbath, who finished eighth in the 5-km women's event. The native of Anchorage covered the course in 17:30.5.
Also contributing for the Bobcats were Anna Fake, 12th, 17:52.6, Matilda Joensson, 18th, 18:17.5, Aubrey Leclair, 21st, 18:29.9, and Kathleen O'Connell, 26th, 19:18.1.
Utah's Guro Jordheim won the women's race in 16:44.4.
With just the Nordic freestyle races remaining on Sunday morning, Utah leads the DU Invite with 514 points. The Utes are followed by Colorado 448, DU 410, MSU 399, Alaska Anchorage 327, Westminster 288, Colorado Mountain 152, and Alaska Fairbanks 100.
