Solheim Paces Bobcat Skiers in RMISA Qualifier

Sophomore Aage Solheim added to his early season successes finishing fifth in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association Slalom Qualifier on Friday afternoon.
NEDERLAND, Colo. – Sophomore Aage Solheim added to his early season successes finishing fifth in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association Slalom Qualifier on Friday afternoon. The qualifier does not count in team standings, but racers earn points toward qualifying for the NCAA championships.
Solheim finished the event with a two-run clocking of 1:33.49. His 42.84 opening run was the second fastest of the race. Colorado's Joseph Young won the slalom qualifier in 1:32.60.
Patrick Carry, 12th, 1:34.92, and Louis Muhlen-Schulte, 18th, 1:46.48 placed among the top 20.
The Bobcat women were led by Tegan Wold, who placed eighth overall, with a two-run total of 1:32.16. Denver's Amelia Smart captured the women's event in 1:29.20.
Trixie Lever, 14th, 1:33.30, Nellie Talbot, 20th, 1:34.94 and Haley Cutler, 24th, 1:37.76 completed MSU's race.
The Montana State Nordic team will open its 2020 RMISA season at the Colorado Invitational on Saturday at Howelsen Hill.
