A look at Bobcats in history who wore #67
June 25: In addition to a quick look at players wearing the jersey number corresponding to the number of days remaining until Montana State's season opener at Texas Tech on August 31, Bobcats by the Numbers brings you another tidbit or two aligning with that number.
#67
Joe McElroy, OL: One of four Bobcats from the Garden City of Missoula, Joe McElroy is part of a stable of young offensive linemen that the Bobcat staff looks to develop into a foundation of the program. McElroy redshirted for the Cats in 2018 after earning all-state honors twice each as an offensive and defensive lineman at Missoula Loyola.
Chronology: Buddy James (1956), Gene Schilling (1957), Darrell Hueth (1958), Bob Schmitz (1959-60), Randy Barton (1961), Kent Border (1965), Tony Welzenbach (1966-68), Eric Wheeler (1969), Alan Wilson (1970-71), Alan Ward (1972-74), Tony Woolery (1975), Bob Lubig (1976-77), Mike Ereaux (1979-80), John Nord (1981-82), Mike Wrenn (1983-84), Derrick Isackson (1985-89), Chris Reed (1990-92), Matt Arias (1993-96), Josh Rollins (1997), Charlie Elkins (1999-2000), Brian Choi (2001-02), Joaquin Echauri (2003-04), Ty Walk (2006), Mitchell Gray (2007), Andrew Garaventa (2008), Todd Brandt (2009), Joel Horn (2011), Doug Hanson (2012-13), Jake McFetridge (2015-17), Joe McElroy (2018-)
#67 Notes: Few have worn #67 for the Cats to greater effect than Alan Wilson. A Second Team All-Big Sky choice as a senior from British Columbia, Wilson went on to a legendary career in the CFL. He was All-Western Conference and Canadian All-Star seven times, and was named the Schenley Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in 1977. He played in two Grey Cup games, and was a key member of the BC Lions' 1985 championship team. Wilson is a CFL and Bobcat Hall of Famer.
