Peyton Hanser, WR: A promising young receiver, Peyton Hanser is a big, physical receiver that had a productive redshirt season and held his own last fall when called on in his first varsity season. He comes from excellent football bloodlines – his brother played football at Washington State, a sister played hoops at MSU-Billings, and his father Scott was a star on the gridiron during Wyoming's glory days in the late '80s. Hanser had an outstanding spring and is expected to compete for time as a third-year sophomore this fall.
84 – Dennis Erickson was known for his arm and savvy during his time as Montana State's quarterback (1966-68), but he put his legs to good use, too. Called by Bobcat head coach Jim Sweeney "the best option quarterback in America," per the team's 1967 media guide, Erickson rambled 84 yards for a touchdown in Montana State's 35-23 loss at North Dakota State in 1966. That remains tied for the fourth-longest rush on record in Bobcat history.
