DeNarius McGhee's 79 career touchdown passes stands as a Bobcat record
June 13: In addition to a quick look at players wearing the jersey number corresponding to the number of days remaining until Montana State's season opener at Texas Tech on August 31, Bobcats by the Numbers brings you another tidbit or two aligning with that number.
#79
Jack Harlow, OL: The son of former NFL standout Pat Harlow, for whom Jack Harlow played at J Serra High School in southern California, arrives at Montana State as an interior offensive line prospect with a head start in terms of size and strength. He was a 1st Team All-Trinity, All-Orange County and All-SoCal selection as a senior.
79 – Career touchdown passes by DeNarius McGhee, an MSU record.
By almost any measure, DeNarius McGhee was a transformational player for the Bobcats and an all-time great in the Big Sky Conference. The numbers are staggering – 79 touchdown passes leads us here today, but he also threw for a school-record 11,203 yards. He led the Bobcats to three straight Big Sky titles, three FCS Playoff appearances, and two wins in Washington-Grizzly Stadium. He won Big Sky MVP honors twice and 1st Team All-America honors once. A remarkable talent and singular personality, DeNarius McGhee found his way to Bozeman at exactly the right time, and is entering his third season as a Bobcat assistant coach.
