Fish's tenure at Montana State ends after five seasons
BOZEMAN, Montana – After a five-year run as the head coach of Montana State University men's basketball, Brian Fish will be leaving the program, MSU Director of Athletics Leon Costello announced Sunday. Fish's contract expires on June 30.
As head coach, Fish's record was 65-92. His 2018-19 squad finished 15-17, 11-9 in the Big Sky and tied for fourth place.
"After a thorough review of the men's basketball program, today I met with Brian and informed him of my decision not to renew his contract; I also thanked Brian for his years of service to Montana State University," Costello said. "This type of decision is always hard and one I do not take lightly. We are grateful to Brian for his dedication to Montana State University and the men's basketball program. We wish Brian the best in his future endeavors."
Costello said a national search for Montana State's 23rd basketball head coach begins immediately.
