Letter From The AD: November 14, 2019

Dear Bobcats,
I want to start off by thanking all Bobcat fans and donors that attended or participated in the Blue and Gold Gala on Friday, November 1, in Worthington Arena. Over 400 Bobcat fans attended and many others donated and purchased auction items. This year's event generated over $240,000 directly benefiting student-athlete scholarships and has a lasting impact on the lives of all Bobcat student-athletes. Mark your calendars for the 3rd Annual Blue and Gold Gala on Friday, October 23, 2020.
Last week we announced a continued focus on our student-athletes' well-being by strategically organizing and hiring personnel to support their development while competing for MSU. While a critical endeavor when on campus, the principles our student-athletes learn can be utilized throughout their life. We strive to continue to enhance the student-athlete experience and quality of life for each of them, while developing them into champions in the classroom and competition. I invite you to read our updates here.
The fall sports season continues to be successful. Camila Noe captured the Big Sky Women's Cross-Country Championship, Montana State's first individual women's champion in 27 years. The men's team finished third which was their best finish in seven years. The Bobcats will compete in the Mountain Region Championships this Friday in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The Bobcat football and volleyball teams continue their best starts since the 2012 season. Bobcat football holds an overall record of 7-3 and 4-2 in Big Sky Conference play while Bobcat volleyball sits at 12-11, 8-6 in Big Sky Conference action. Help us continue to make Bobcat Stadium and Shroyer Gymnasium the best home atmospheres in the country.
With the Cat/Griz football game SOLD OUT, we encourage you to attend a Cat/Griz Watch Party in your area. Click here to see all the watch party locations for this year's game. Bobcat volleyball has two matches remaining at home this season and they take place this weekend. Click here to get your tickets to MSU volleyball's final two matches in Shroyer.
It is hard to believe that the men's and women's basketball seasons have tipped off. Don't miss any of the action inside Worthington Arena this season. Tickets are on sale now. Click here to purchase your basketball tickets today.
Speaking of basketball, this past weekend coach Danny Sprinkle won his first Division I game as a head coach leading the Bobcats to a win over Rocky Mountain College 93-60. Congratulations to coach Sprinkle! We also hosted the 3rd Annual Bobcat School Day game on Monday. Over 6,500 school kids from all over the state of Montana packed Worthington Arena to watch the women's basketball team defeat Carroll College 67-33.
Also this winter, don't forget that MSU, along with Bridger Bowl and Crosscut Mountain Sports Center, will host the 2020 NCAA Skiing National Championships March 11-14. This is a great event to showcase our athletic department, MSU campus and Bozeman community and to witness the best skiing in the country. For more information on the 2020 NCAA Skiing Championships, click here.
It has been a great couple of months on campus for the 2019-20 season and I continue to be impressed by the commitment, dedication and loyalty of our Bobcat fans. You truly drive the success of our teams and I am excited about the achievements earned this year. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do to support the Bobcats.
Go Cats!
