MSU's Award-Winning National Girls and Women in Sports Day Promo Back for Another Year

“We’re thrilled to be bringing back one of our favorite promotions from last season,” said MSU Associate Athletics Director of Marketing Bethany Cordell. “Giving these young women a 360-degree view of opportunities that exist for them in the world of sports is pretty special.”
BOZEMAN, Mont. – Montana State's award-winning National Girls and Women in Sports Day promotion is back for another year. Girls' ages 7-13 years-old are invited to 'apply' for junior staff positions when the Bobcats host Weber State on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. in Worthington Arena.
Girls can apply for jobs such as athletic director, band director, Bobcat DJ, camera operator, equipment manager, marketing assistant, public address announcer, sideline reporter, social media manager, spirit squad, radio play-by-play broadcaster, sports information director, ticket taker and video producer.

The National Girls and Women in Sports Day promotion is sponsored by First West Insurance. The promotion was a huge success last winter and garnered honors from the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators going up against every school and sport across the country.
"We are proud of the effort all our staff members put in last year to make this event a success," Cordell said. "To have schools like Penn State calling us to help with implementation and seeing fellow Big Sky members like Montana giving opportunities to young women is a pretty cool thing."
In addition to the junior staff positions, all kids will be admitted free of charge if wearing any team gear. There will also be pre-game mini-clinics run by current Bobcat female student-athletes in a variety of sports.
The Feb. 16 game will also serve as MSU's annual Pack the Place in Pink contest sponsored by Billings Clinic. Fans wearing pink in support of breast cancer awareness will be admitted on a $5 ticket.
