Eric Kinnaman was really a good running back for the Bobcats in the late '90s
August 18: Bobcats by the Numbers takes a look at current and past Bobcats whose jersey numbers correspond to the number of days remaining before Montana State opens the 2018 football season against Western Illinois in Bobcat Stadium's annual Gold Rush game on August 30.
#12
Tucker Rovig, QB: Ticker Rovig has turned opportunity into action during fall camp, posting a strong first scrimmage and a couple productive weeks of practice to reinsert himself into the playing time conversation at quarterback. He is a tall, athletic signal caller with a strong presence behind center and will contribute to the MSU offense this season.
Ty'Rhae Gibson, CB: Like his brother Ty'Rese, Ty'Rhae Gibson is a long, athletic corner who can really run. Those two are among the players altering the scope of what's possible with the Bobcat defense, particularly in terms of coverage schemes.
Spotlight – Eric Kinnaman: The first look at Eric Kinnaman was what eventually shaped his career, a 5-9, 164 lb running back who was as tough as any Bobcat to come down the pike but affected by a string of injuries at a brutal position. He will always be remembered for what almost was, scoring a touchdown with just seconds left to put the Cats in position to win the Brawl of the Wild in 1997. That didn't come to pass, but Kinnaman was part of an impressive string of running backs during Cliff Hysell's time as MSU's head coach. His 1,045 career rushing yards in a truncated career was among MSU's top 25 career
