MSU senior defensive lineman is only Bobcat chosen for preseason honors
SPOKANE, Washington – Big Sky Conference coaches and media both selected Montana State to finish eighth in the conference football race this fall, the league announced at its annual Football Kickoff on Monday.
In addition, senior nose tackle Tucker Yates was chosen Preseason All-Big Sky by selected media members. The Colstrip, Montana, product has been one of MSU's most productive players during his three seasons at MSU. He was the team's Joe Tiller Defensive Co-MVP with Zach Wright, a defensive tackle, a season ago.
The Cats were tabbed eighth in both preseason polls, slotted directly behind Montana by the coaches. Eastern Washington stands as a consensus choice to top the conference in both polls, receiving six of the 13 first-place votes among conference coaches and 27 of 55 votes by media members.
The Bobcats open the 2018 season on August 30 against Western Illinois.
