MSU gridders face local first responders in annual contest at Bozeman's Heroes Park
BOZEMAN, Montana – Bobcat football fans hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite players without shoulder pads on will have that opportunity on June 25 when Montana State football players square off against local first responders in a charity softball game to benefit Montana's Project Hope.
Members of the Bobcat football team, the Big Hits and Sticks, square off with Bozeman-area first responders, the Lights and Sirens, in a softball game that benefits an organization founded by the Montana Highway Patrol that grants wishes for Treasure State children living with critical illness. The contest takes place at Heroes Park, Bozeman's American Legion field at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. Concessions and a beer garden will be available, and the evening begins with a home run derby at 6 pm.
"This is a fun event that benefits a wonderful cause," MSU head coach Jeff Choate said. "This is something we look forward to every summer." Bobcat jerseys and helmets will be raffled off.
