Montana State’s Dvoracek Captures Giant Slalom Title at Denver Invitational

Combined with the Bobcat women’s score, Montana State leads the DU Invitational after two events with 155 points.
Denver Invitational Results - Day 1
Montana State sophomore Addison Dvoracek put together two solid runs to capture the giant slalom title at the Denver Invitational on Friday afternoon at Loveland Basin.
The Truckee, Calif., native had the fastest opening time notching a 52.33 and followed that with the second quickest clocking in the second go to post a winning time of 1:46.12.
The Bobcat men carried the day as Jeffrey Bell and Patrick Carry also notched top 10 performances. Bell placed fourth overall in 1:47.19, while Carry was seventh in 1:47:70.
In all, the MSU men tallied 96 points, which was 11 points better than second place Colorado.
Also competing for the MSU men was Morten Bakke, 25th, 1:49.54.
The Montana State women were paced by Kari Hole, who placed sixth with a two-run time of 1:47.61. She was followed by Benni Lyche, 12th, 1:48.05, Mia Henry, 19th, 1:49.49, and Jocelyn McCarthy, 21st, 1:50.48. Stephanie Gartner did not finish her second run.
New Mexico's Katherine Irwin won the women's giant slalom crown in 1:46.82.
Combined with the Bobcat women's score, Montana State leads the DU Invitational after two events with 155 points. The Bobcats are followed by CU 149, New Mexico 146, Utah 131, Westminster 115.5, DU 102.5, Alaska-Anchorage 99 and Colorado Mountain College 24.
The DU Invitational continues on Saturday with both alpine and Nordic events.
