Blue & Gold Gala is geared to become an annual fundraiser for student athlete scholarships
BOZEMAN, MT. – After a successful inaugural Blue and Gold Gala, Bobcat Athletics has a date set for the second edition of the event which will take place in the fall of 2019.
Bobcat supporters can mark their calendars for Friday, November 1, 2019 for the annual event that will take place on the Montana State University campus.
Bobcat Athletics and the Blub Club Annual Scholarship Fund hosted the first-ever Gala in Worthington Arena on Nov. 2, 2018. The formal event was designed as a fundraiser for student-athlete scholarships and celebration for Bobcat Athletics achievements. The evening included a cocktail hour, silent auction and live auction, as well as a served dinner.
Longtime Bobcat fan and supporter Dean Folkvord served as auctioneer at the Blue and Gold Gala. Several speakers were featured at the event including former Bobcat Deonte Flowers, who performed the invocation, Montana State President Waded Cruzado, and current Bobcat Club board member David Peretto.
For supporters who were unable to attend the event, but wanted to participate in the silent auction, items were available to bid online at the Blue & Gold Gala website. An auction item that was generously donated by James Goetz and Jill Davenport was a 1956 Ford Thunderbird. The antique vehicle was bid on by four donors in a unique secret bid auction and raised $25,000. In all, the Blue and Gold Gala raised approximately $140,000 for student-athlete scholarships.
The Gala was catered by University Catering and Plonk provided the bar. Table design and center pieces were provided by Jen Poser-Hayden of Hilltop Events.
More information regarding registration and event details will be provided online by the Bobcat Club at msubobcatclub.com and at msubobcats.com. To contribute to Montana State student-athlete scholarships, contact the Bobcat Club at bobcatclub@msubobcats.comor by calling 406-994-3741.
