OFFENSE: Isaiah Ifanse, RB (5-10, 195, Fr, Bellevue, WA) – Isaiah Ifanse posted a historic performance Saturday, rushing for a Bobcat freshman record 227 yards to pace Montana State's 49-42 win over Cal Poly. Ifanse carried 22 times, averaging 10.3 yards per carry, the 7th-best day in Bobcat history, and scored three touchdowns. Ifanse's 227 yards was 8th-most in a game in Bobcat history, shattered the MSU single-game rushing record of 192 yards by Aaron Mason in 2006, and was third-most by a Big Sky player this season and 13th-most by any FCS player in 2018. It was also the single-best rushing total in a game by any freshman in 2018. In fact, it was the first 200-yard game by an FCS freshman since Delaware State's Mike Waters rushed for 224 against Howard in 2016 and the most since John Santiago rambled for 230 against the Bobcats in 2015. Ifanse has rushed for 713 yards this season, second-most among all Bobcat freshman (Chris Murray's 860 in 2016 sets the standard), and his four 100-yard rushing games ties Murray's mark for the most by a Bobcat freshman.
