Bobcat Netters Split Matches on Opening Day

Against Lewis and Clark State, Montana State (1-1) captured the opening doubles point winning all three matches by identical 6-1 outcomes.
The Montana State women's tennis team split a pair of matches as it opened its 2018 season on the road. The Bobcats opened the day at Lewis and Clark State and posted a 6-1 victory over the Warriors. MSU ended the day in Pullman, Wash., where Washington State handed the Bobcats a 7-0 setback.
Against Lewis and Clark State, Montana State (1-1) captured the opening doubles point winning all three matches by identical 6-1 outcomes. Angelina Philippova put MSU 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 decision over Stephanie Buckingham. Annie Walker and Linda Vink followed with straight set victories at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively, to secure the Bobcat win.
Against Pac-12 foe Washington State, it was all Cougars as WSU swept the Bobcats- all in straight sets.
MSU will conclude its opening weekend at Gonzaga on Sunday morning.
