Bobcat Hall of Famer Joe Tiller has passed away
Saturday began with sad news for everyone associated with Bobcat football. Joe Tiller, an All-America tackle at Montana State in 1963, passed away in Buffalo, Wyoming. He was 74.
Tiller was a beloved figure at Montana State, as well as at Wyoming and Purdue, where he served as head coach. The nation learned during his 16 years as a head coach what Bobcats had known all along – that Joe Tiller was a brilliant coach, but far more than that he was a wonderful and loyal friend with humor and humility rarely matched.
Our thoughts are with Arnette, Renee, Julie and Mike, and with the countless friends whose lives Joe touched along the way. He will be greatly missed in Bobcat Nation.

Senior kicker Luke Daly has been removed from Montana State's roster. Sophomores Gabe Peppenger (kicker) and Jered Padmos (punter) each rose to the top of the depth chart before last week's Bobcat win at North Dakota.

One Weber State player who caught the eye of Bobcat head coach Jeff Choate is defensive tackle McKay Murphy. The son of famed major leaguer and renowned nice guy Dale Murphy, Choate had a different way on the younger Murphy's play.
"He's a bad dude," Choate said. "He has really good twitch for such a large human being. He creates lots of problems for you."
Murphy's 15 tackles is second on the team, impressive for an interior lineman, and he has seven tackles-for-loss and one sack.

Today is Homecoming in Bobcat Stadium, and the Cats have fared well for this event over the years. Last year's loss to North Dakota snapped a six-game Homecoming win streak, and the Cats stand 50-21-2 all-time. Montana State is 9-5-1 against Weber State, its most common Homecoming opponent.
