Bobcat Skier Earns Top Academic Honor

To qualify for academic all-district honors, a student-athlete must have a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average or higher. Be of sophomore academic standing and have made a contribution during the 2016-17 season. Andersen has a 3.96 GPA in mechanical engineering.
Montana State Nordic skier Noah Andersen has been named to the 2016-17 Academic All-District VII Men's At-Large First-Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. His name will now move on to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration, which is the nation's top academic honor for collegiate athletes.
Andersen, a junior from Bozeman, helped guide the Bobcats to a sixth place finish at the 2017 NCAA Skiing Championships. He placed 29th overall in the 20k freestyle and 38th in the 10k classic at the national meet. During the RMISA circuit, Andersen finished 26th in qualifying points, which included a season-best 12th place showing in classic at the MSU Invitational. At the RMISA/NCAA West Regional championships, Andersen was 16th in the 10k classic. He is a three-time USCSCA National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team honoree.
