Bobcat Women Remain Undefeated in Big Sky Action

The Montana State women’s tennis team remained undefeated in Big Sky Conference play with a convincing 6-1 win over Southern Utah, Friday afternoon at the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.
The Montana State women's tennis team remained undefeated in Big Sky Conference play with a convincing 6-1 win over Southern Utah, Friday afternoon at the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.
Montana State (8-3, 4-0) opened the match winning the doubles point with victories at Nos. 1 and 2.
The Bobcats secured the match as No. 2 Chloe Goyette, No. 3 Naomi Holopainen and No. 4 Angelina Philippova all registered straight set victories.
"The team did a great job," said MSU head coach Jon Reeves. "We put ourselves in good positions to take control of the matches from the start. The team is competing very well, whether they are playing their best or not, and it is showing in our results."
Southern Utah picked up its lone point at No. 1 singles, before Jessica Brycki and Wanda Holopainen closed out the scoring at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.
"It was so nice to be back at MSU and in Bozeman playing a dual match," Reeves said. "We had a nice group of fans."
MSU will host Idaho State on Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
