Bobcats Finish Fourth at Seawolf Invitational

The University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolf Invitational finished Wednesday afternoon with an event that hadn’t been run in nearly thirty years. Montana State placed eighth in the classic mixed gender 4x5-kilometer relay.
The University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolf Invitational finished Wednesday afternoon with an event that hadn't been run in nearly thirty years. Montana State placed eighth in the classic mixed gender 4x5-kilometer relay.
MSU's top team was comprised of Martin Muan, Noah Andersen, Anika Miller and Kathleen O'Connell. Participating teams could score two relays; however the Bobcats were unable to field a second team due to illness. In all, Montana State's only relay squad recorded 58 points.
Despite being held to just one team being able to score, while the rest of the RMISA schools scored two relays, the Bobcats finished the Seawolf Invite fourth overall. Utah won the team title with 665 points, followed by Denver 569, Colorado 549, MSU 479, New Mexico 464, Alaska Anchorage 435, Alaska Fairbanks 216, Colorado Mountain College 56, and Westminster 29.
Montana State All American Miller had her best race of the season finishing third overall in the women's Nordic freestyle sprints, Tuesday afternoon at Kincaid Park. The product of McCall, Idaho posted 34 points for the Bobcats.
Also producing points for MSU were Anna Fake, 19th, and Jordan Floyd, 23rd. Emma Tarbath, 26th, also completed the sprints for the Bobcats. In all, the Montana State women racked-up 59 points.
The MSU men had two racers complete the sprint discipline. Muan placed 18th overall, while Andersen was 19th
The Bobcat Nordic team will stay in Anchorage to complete the UAA Invitational beginning on Saturday 5/10K classical races.
