Montana State Athletics filled open positions in the department this fall with the additions of Thomas Bell, Lisa Jardine and Aaron Paterson to the staff. Bell and Paterson both joined MSU's Student Services office, while Jardine is the newest member of the Athletic Training office after Jennifer Chiu began her tenure with the Bobcats this summer.
"I'm pleased to welcome the newest members to Montana State Athletics," Director of Athletics Leon Costello said. "We've had the opportunity to add valued individuals to our athletic department over the last several months. Thomas, Lisa and Aaron will provide support for Bobcat student-athletes to enhance their overall experience and well-being while at Montana State."
Bell joined Bobcat Athletics as its Compliance and Student Services Coordinator. Bell graduated with a bachelor's degree in sport management from Liberty University in 2016. His previous athletics experience includes working with the Liberty Flames football team for five seasons and a year interning within the Cleveland Indians Minor League Baseball systems.
Paterson serves as the Bobcats' Athletic Academic Services Coordinator. In his role, Paterson works as the Academic Coordinator for the men's and women's basketball teams. He oversees the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and assists with student services initiatives for all student-athletes.
Paterson earned a master's and bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri. He played collegiate baseball for one season at Iowa State University before completing his senior season of eligibility at Mizzou. Prior to his arrival in Bozeman, Paterson was the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Leadership and Formation at Boston College from 2014-17.
Jardine joined MSU as an Assistant Athletic Trainer this fall and provides athletic training services for Bobcat student-athletes, primarily women's basketball and spirit squad members. She most recently served as an assistant athletic trainer from 2009-17 at South Dakota State University and worked primarily with the Jackrabbits' volleyball team.
Jardine earned a bachelor's degree from Dakota Wesleyan where she also competed in track and field for four seasons. She completed a master's degree in health, nutrition and exercise science from North Dakota State in 2009.
