MSU Advises Fans to Plan Ahead to Arrive on Time For Cat-Griz Game

Fans attending this weekend’s Cat-Griz football game should plan extra time to enter Bobcat Stadium due to added security measures for the annual Brawl of the Wild.
BOZEMAN – Fans attending this weekend's Cat-Griz football game should plan extra time to enter Bobcat Stadium due to added security measures for the annual Brawl of the Wild.
Gates open at 10 a.m. on Nov. 18 with kickoff at noon. Montana State University police advise fans to enter the stadium between 11 a.m. and 11:15 to ensure they get to their seats before kickoff. Arriving later may mean long lines, said MSU Police Chief Frank Parrish.
The added security is in response to recent tragic events in Las Vegas and elsewhere and is based on recommendations provided by the Department of Homeland Security, Parrish said.
"We take safety and security very seriously," Parrish said. "We don't want fans to be overwhelmed by security, but we do want to make sure they are safe on our campus."
Parking on the MSU campus — including the parking garage — is free during the game, though tailgate lots require permits. The entrance to the parking garage is located off of Seventh Avenue just north of the stadium. A full campus parking map is online at http://www.montana.edu/parking/map.pdf.
Parrish said 11 law enforcement agencies, fire departments and ambulance services will be working together during the game, and he noted that local law enforcement agencies will be conducting extra patrols across the Gallatin Valley before, during and after the game to catch impaired drivers.
