BOBCAT GAME DAY NOTEBOOK #6: Vander Out for Today's Game

Linebacker Josh Hill returns, but running back Edward Vander is out
Montana State sophomore running back Edward Vander will miss today's showdown with Eastern Washington in Cheney. Vander suffered a leg injury in last week's win over Portland State.
Vander averages 50.2 yards a game and 6.6 yards a carry, and had been a staple of the team's ground game in recent weeks. He gained 73 yards against Weber State and 58 last week against Portland State.

While Vander misses today's game, the Bobcats get a defensive regular back. Starting Mike linebacker Josh Hill is expected to return today after missing the previous three games with a leg injury. Hill had started his first 13 games as a Bobcat.
The sophomore from Kalispell is expected to come off the bench today, leaving the starting lineup undisturbed from the previous two weeks. Grant Collins starts at Mike, with Tyrone Fa'anono at Buck and Derek Mars at end.

Long-time Bobcat staffers saw an old friend during pregame warmups. Jay Dumas, Eastern Washington's receivers coach, served on Mike Kramer's Bobcats staff at Montana State. Dumas coached MSU running backs from 2003-06.

Montana State has allowed just four sacks this season, 6th in the FCS. The Eagles have logged 17 quarterback sacks.

Montana State enters today's game leading the Big Sky in rushing. The Eagles lead the league in passing.
