After the giant slalom and slalom events, Colorado sits atop the team standings with 334 points, followed by Denver 308, Utah 286.5, MSU 270.5, Westminster 246, New Mexico 208, Alaska Anchorage 163 and Colorado Mountain College 33.

Behind a runner-up finish by junior Garret Driller in slalom, the Montana State men's alpine team posted the second best performance Monday afternoon to mark the midway point of the MSU Invitational.

Driller, a product of Tahoe City, Calif., clocked a two-run total of 1:44.40, finishing behind Colorado's David Ketterer, who registered 1:43.13.
MSU's Morten Bakke, ninth, 1:45.95, and David Neuhauser, 12^th, 1:46.12 helped the Bobcats notch 80 points in slalom. Only Denver's 92 points bested the Bobcat effort.

Two-time All-American Bennie Lyche led the Bobcat women in slalom action placing 12^th with a two-run mark of 1:41.08. She was followed in MSU's top three by Stephanie Gartner, 16^th, 1:42.38, and Mia Henry, 21^st, 1:42.60.

Denver's Monica Huebner won the women's slalom title in 1:38.42.

The Nordic portion of the MSU Invite will be held Jan. 14-15 at Bohart Ranch. The Bobcat alpine team will complete the Utah Invitational, Jan. 12-14 at Snowbasin, Utah.
