Bobcat Men Dominate Utah Invitational Giant Slalom

“Addison Dvoracek continues to impress,” said MSU alpine head coach Kevin Francis. “It is not easy to break into the college circuit as a freshman and he has proven his speed and consistency, which are great traits on the college scene.”
Montana State continued its early season success dominating the men's giant slalom, Friday afternoon at the Utah Invitational. Four Bobcats placed in the top 10 as the squad racked-up 90 points to lead all teams.
MSU freshman Addison Dvoracek paced the Bobcats placing third with a two-run total of 2:17.82. Dvoracek's second run of 1:07.23 was the fastest of the day. Also placing in the top 10 were David Neuhauser, fourth, 2:18.35, Morten Bakke, seventh, 2:18.95, and Jeffrey Bell, ninth, 2:19.09.

Bobcat All-American Garret Driller just missed a top 10 showing, finishing 13th in 2:19.82. He was followed by Patrick Carry, 26th, 2:20.84.
"The rest of the men ripped and showed a level of smarts in dealing with inconsistent conditions," Francis added. "Everyone is excited for the slalom tomorrow. It is usually our best event."
Utah's Samuel Dupratt won the giant slalom title in 2:17.51.
The MSU women were led by Jocelyn McCarthy, who finished 11th in a time of 2:30.61. She was followed by Stephanie Gartner in 13th with a two-run total of 2:31.4. Four other Bobcat skiers did not finish their races after dealing with snow and flat lighting on the course.
Colorado sits atop the Utah Invitational teams standings with 455 points. The Buffaloes are followed by Utah 451, Denver 439, New Mexico 369, MSU 325, Alaska Anchorage 308, Alaska Fairbanks 252, Wyoming 104, Westminster 96 and Colorado Mountain College 24.
The Utah Invite finishes on Saturday with the men's and women's slalom events.
