Bobcat Cornerback John Walker Earns ROOT Sports Big Sky Honor

Graduate transfer named Player of the Week after picking off two Bryant passes
After intercepting two passes in the shadow of Montana State's end zone Saturday, Bobcat cornerback John Walker earned ROOT Sports Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors Monday.
Walker picked off his first pass at the Bobcat three-yard line late in the first half to squelch a potential Bryant scoring drive, then effectively ended the game with an interception in the MSU end zone with 4:49 to play. That preserved a 27-24 Montana State lead, and the team's offense was able to hold the ball for the rest of the game.
A graduate transfer from Colorado, Walker became the first Bobcat to intercept two passes in a game since 2011. In fact, it had been 16 games since the MSU team had intercepted two opponent passes in one game. Walker also logged four tackles, second-most among MSU defensive backs.
Walker joins Northern Colorado quarterback Kyle Slotter (offense) and UM punt returner Jerry Louie-McGee (special teams) as ROOT Big Sky Players of the Week.
