Francis, who just completed his third season at Montana State and led the Bobcats to a fourth place showing at the 2016 NCAA Skiing Championships, was recently named the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate and National Collegiate Ski Coaches Association Alpine Coach of the Year.
"Kevin has shown outstanding leadership with the Montana State ski program," said MSU Director of Athletics Peter Fields. "We're proud that he can take his skills and apply them at a national level. In addition, I believe he also has the vision to make NCAA skiing even stronger. This is a great honor for both Kevin and the Montana State Athletics Department."
The NCAA Skiing committee monitors and actively supervises the conduct of each meet within the rules of the sport and serves as the games committee at the national championship.
