The Montana State men and women combined for 120 points as the Bobcats sit in fourth place in the team standings, and one point back of Westminster for the third spot.
After two of eight events, Denver sits atop the standings with 165 points, followed by Colorado 150, Westminster 121, MSU 120, Utah 119, New Mexico 117, Alaska-Anchorage 115 and Colorado Mountain College 27.
McCarthy, a product of Edmonton, Alberta posted a two-run total of 1:29.82. Also scoring for the Bobcats were Mia Henry, 15th, 1:31.36, and Benedicte Lyche, 16th, 1:31.91. Henry, a freshman from Calgary, Alberta recorded the second fastest clocking (44.62) in the final run of the night.
Rounding out the MSU finishers were Kari Hole, 17th, 1:32.27, Tenaya Driller, 19th, 1:32.40, and Stephanie Gartner, 20th, 1:33.10.
"It was an exciting day," said MSU Alpine Coach Kevin Francis. "It was a clear, sunny day and a cold clear night. When the lights came on and the crowd arrived the atmosphere was amazing."
Utah's Julie Mohagen won the women's slalom title in 1:28.55.
Neuhauser continued his hot winter clocking a two-run total of 1:26.40, while Bakke, a freshman from Oslo, Norway was on his heels at 1:26.98. The duo combined for 49 points. Jeffrey Bell completed MSU's scoring finishing 30th in 1:30.57.
Colorado's Henrik Gunnarsson won the men's slalom crown in 1:25.43.
"Both the ladies and men had good days," Francis said. "They won't be satisfied, but they're getting better every day and that is the key to a good season. We just need to keep building toward NCAAs. This was a good preview."
The CU-Spencer James Nelson Memorial Invite will continue on Saturday with the giant slalom events and the Nordic freestyle races.
