Bobcats Picked to Finish Third, Fourth in Big Sky

Montana State men's cross country was picked to finish third in the Big Sky Conference, while the women were projected to come in at fourth the Big Sky Conference announced last week. The Men's team tied with Weber State with 119 points in the poll, but the Wildcats edged out the 'Cats by receiving two first place votes. NAU was the favorite on the men's side and Southern Utah on the women's.
Jake Turner, a national competitor, will look to lead the Bobcats in his senior season. Diego Leon is a new face in Blue and Gold, but hopes to make an immediate impact on the team after being named the California Community College Athletic Associate Male Athlete of the Year. The men were picked to finish 12th in the NCAA Mountain Region.
The women have finished third at the previous two Big Sky meets, and brings back four of its top-seven from last season. Rachel Sullivan and Caroline Hardin each finished in the top-20 last season, with Sullivan just two spots out and three seconds from an all-conference finish. Jenette Northey and Rachel Atwood also return for the Bobcats. MSU ranks right behind NAU at fifth in the mountain region.
