Morgan Ryan still holds MSU's career interceptions record
For every day of the summer we will look at players who donned the jersey number corresponding to the number of days until the Bobcats open the 2015 season on September 3 against Fort Lewis College. The list of MSU football players by the jersey number is based on preseason rosters. The set of available rosters is complete from 1946-81 and '83-present. Only the 1926-27, 1934, 1937 and 1941 rosters are available in the pre-WWII years. Corrections, additions, or rosters that fill out the set will be welcomed enthusiastically via e-mail at: blamberty@msubobcats.com. Complaints about featured players also welcome, but possibly with less enthusiasm.

Woody Brandom, TE: Woody Brandom should fit right in amongst Montana State's tight ends – physically, at least. He is a rangy athlete, at 6-4, 225 lbs, and earned All-CIF honors as a right end and safety.in high school He caught 52 passes for 880 yards and was voted Most Inspirational by his teammates as a senior.
Spotlight Player: The numbers were so impressive, the performance so impactful, that it almost tricked Bobcat fans into thinking it could always be that way. Morgan Ryan intercepted 22 passes during a Bobcat career from 1990 to '93, which spanned two different coaching staffs with radically different defensive philosophies. The Hudson, Wisc., product cracked the MSU starting lineup during his freshman season then remained throughout his career. Ryan earned First Team All-Big Sky honors in 1993 after claiming Honorable Mention All-America honors in 1991. He remains MSU's all-time interceptions leader, and occupies two of the top 12 spots on the school's single-season interception list. Since he picked off six passes in 1992, only one Bobcat has topped that total.
