CMR's Bryan Wilkes joins MSU's stable of talented, young O-linemen
Every day we look at players who donned the jersey number corresponding to the number of days until the Bobcats open the 2015 season on September 3 against Fort Lewis College. The list of MSU football players by the jersey number is based on preseason rosters. The set of available rosters is complete from 1946-81 and '83-present. Only the 1926-27, 1934, 1937 and 1941 rosters are available in the pre-WWII years. Corrections, additions, or rosters that fill out the set will be welcomed enthusiastically via e-mail at: blamberty@msubobcats.com. Complaints about featured players also welcome, but possibly with less enthusiasm.

Bryan Wilkes, OL: Another big, physical offensive line prospect who joins the Bobcats this fall. Wilkes comes to MSU from Great Falls CM Russell High School, where he earned First Team All-State honors.
Spotlight Player: Nothing about Bill Schmidt was fancy. He came to MSU from Sheridan, and established himself as a three-year starter, but his greatest contribution came after he was granted an additional year of eligibility due to the a newly-implemented NCAA retroactive redshirt rule. That 'extra' year etched Schmidt into the annals of an all-time Bobcat great, and helped spur MSU to the 1984 National Championship. Schmidt was lauded for his consistency early in his starting career, but was much more than just consistent as a senior, earning First Team All-Big Sky and First Team All-America honors.
