A young defensive end from Livingston currently occupies #69
Every day we look at players who donned the jersey number corresponding to the number of days until the Bobcats open the 2015 season on September 3 against Fort Lewis College. The list of MSU football players by the jersey number is based on preseason rosters. The set of available rosters is complete from 1946-81 and '83-present. Only the 1926-27, 1934, 1937 and 1941 rosters are available in the pre-WWII years. Corrections, additions, or rosters that fill out the set will be welcomed enthusiastically via e-mail at: blamberty@msubobcats.com. Complaints about featured players also welcome, but possibly with less enthusiasm.
#69
Daniel Fowlie, DL: Daniel Fowlie joined the Bobcat program last fall, and turned heads as a defensive end prospect from over the hill in Livingston. He has a reasonable frame at 6-3, 220, and caught D-line coach Bo Beck's eye by working hard.
Spotlight Player: Jersey #69 isn't one that elicits memories of glory in the Bobcat football program, but during the early- and mid-1990s the Bobcats had a nice run in that number. Kerry Pribnow provided quality play as a starting tackle for three seasons, 1992-94, then Rob Brandland moved from defensive line to the offense in a move necessitated by injuries during the '94 campaign and for the two seasons to follow was a very good offensive guard. Brandland flipped his 1994 jersey number – from 96 to 69 – in 1995 and began a solid two-year run. While Brandland was from Mt. Baker, Wash., Pribnow hailed from tiny Lambert, Mont., and epitomizes the long-held notion that small-town Montana kids thrive in the Bobcat program.
