A big in-state O-line prospect inherits a number made famous by Jeff Hansen
Every day we look at players who donned the jersey number corresponding to the number of days until the Bobcats open the 2015 season on September 3 against Fort Lewis College. The list of MSU football players by the jersey number is based on preseason rosters. The set of available rosters is complete from 1946-81 and '83-present. Only the 1926-27, 1934, 1937 and 1941 rosters are available in the pre-WWII years. Corrections, additions, or rosters that fill out the set will be welcomed enthusiastically via e-mail at: blamberty@msubobcats.com. Complaints about featured players also welcome, but possibly with less enthusiasm.

Kash Perry, OL: A big offensive line prospect, Kash Perry was a six-man Class C star at Denton-Stanford-Geyser, where he graduated first in his class. He was a team captain, who caught a 35-yard touchdown pass last fall. He also earned all-league and all-state honors in basketball, and was a National Honor Society member.
Spotlight Player: Jeff Hansen was a great player for Montana State. He might have been even more important as a symbol. He committed to Mike Kramer and his staff in 2004-05, when a lot of people in the Treasure State hadn't come to grips with the fact that the Bobcat program was back, and was around for the long run. Back-to-back championships in 2002 and '03 made believers out of some, but considerable work remained. Bringing a player of Hansen's stature and status, and signing a player from legendary coach Jack Johnson's CMR program, to Bozeman was a major step forward. And Hansen didn't disappoint. Hansen was a second team all-league as a sophomore and junior, honorable mention All-America as a junior, and First Team All-Big Sky and All-America as a senior. The play of offensive linemen Hansen and Mike Person helped smooth the transition from Kramer's staff to Rob Ash's, and Hansen remains universally liked and respected in and around the Bobcat football program.
Notable #76s in the Bobcat Past: A pair of All-Americas, lineman Bob Biastoch and long snapper Dusty Daws, each wore #76 (Daws also wore #96). Brad Callan was a solid offensive lineman for the Bobcats in the 1990s, as well.
Through the years: Ed Ritt (1956), Floyd Robinette (1957), Bob Biastoch (1959-61), Tom Marinan (1962-65), Mike Tocher (1967-69), Wes Wiskus (1970), Joe Johnson (1971), Dan Jondal (1972-74), Jeff Conley (1975-78), Mark Murnan (1979), Eric Harlington (1980-83), Brian Kaufman (1984-87), Ernie Belanger (1988), Pate Anderson (1989), Robert Szidisin (1990), Jason Rogers (1991-92), Brad Callan (1993-97), Ben Werner (1999-2000), AJ Allard (2001), Dusty Daws (2003), Jeff Hansen (2005-09), Cole Ratzburg (2011), Marshall Womack (2012-13), Kash Perry (2015-)
