Quinn Catalano set a high standard for jersey number 79
Every day we look at players who donned the jersey number corresponding to the number of days until the Bobcats open the 2015 season on September 3 against Fort Lewis College. The list of MSU football players by the jersey number is based on preseason rosters. The set of available rosters is complete from 1946-81 and '83-present. Only the 1926-27, 1934, 1937 and 1941 rosters are available in the pre-WWII years. Corrections, additions, or rosters that fill out the set will be welcomed enthusiastically via e-mail at: blamberty@msubobcats.com. Complaints about featured players also welcome, but possibly with less enthusiasm.

Chris Robinson, DL: Chris Robinson is a physical defensive lineman who earned first team all-league and all-area honors as a senior. His quickness and a frame likely to add size makes him a prospect the Bobcat coaching staff is very enthusiastic about.
Spotlight Player: Sometimes you come across the finest things in life a little late. That was the case with Bobcat Football and Quinn Catalano, who arrived on MSU's recruiting radar late in the process in late in 2010 and graduated in 2015 as a great Bobcat. A late trip to Catalano's San Diego home by Jason McEndoo netted the Cats a solid offensive lineman whose exact position was TBA, and the decision almost immediately looked terrific. He played in all 13 games as a redshirt freshman, but was pressed into action during MSU's game at Utah. He played left tackle during MSU's lone touchdown drive in that game, and at Northern Colorado played all but the team's first drive in the team's road win. Beginning with his sophomore season Catalano started his last 38 games, one of the 10 longest such streaks in school history, and he earned Second Team All-Big Sky honors as a senior. He was a team captain as a senior, and after graduation Catalano gained employment at a Bozeman computer firm.
