Long-time Bobcat defensive line coach Bo Beck tips his cap to that tradition today, when he starts three native sons along the defensive front. Nate Bignell, a second generation Bobcat whose younger brother Mac is a current MSU linebacker, will make his first start of the season Saturday, and the second of his career. Connor Thomas, from Kalispell, starts for the seventh time this season. Taylor Sheridan, who was born in Missoula and also lived in Bozeman while growing up, is a third-year starter.
"It's really a tribute to how much hard work they've put in, and how much this game means to each of them personally," said Bobcat coach Rob Ash.

"I don't think there is any," Rob Ash said when asked for perspective on John Weidenaar's 49th consecutive start, which occurs on Montana State's first offensive snap today. "He has been so durable, he's worked so hard, and it also tells you that he's a tremendous player because he has started for playoff teams and a conference championship team. It's a great accomplishment and I don't know if it will ever be broken."
Weidenaar passes Bobcat legends Brent Swagger, like Weidenaar a left tackle who started every game of his career, and defensive end Jon Montoya.
