Neuhauser Guides Bobcat Skiers to Sixth Place at New Mexico Invite

UNM won its own meet with 579 points, followed by Colorado 551, Utah 505.5, Denver 502, Alaska Anchorage 470.5, MSU 423, Westminster 328, and Colorado Mountain 56.
Sophomore David Neuhauser registered Montana State's top finish at the University of New Mexico Invitational, placing sixth in the men's slalom with a two-run total of 1:35.30 to capture 27 points for the Bobcats.
The Austrian native was followed by Garett Driller, 19th, 1:37.49 and Michael Radford, 29th, 2:17.19.
Denver's Trevor Philip won the individual title in 1:33.88.
The Montana State women's alpine squad was led by newcomer Benedicte Lyche, who finished 16th with a two-run clocking of 1:43.55. Rounding out MSU's top three were Tenaya Driller, 20th, 1:46.00, and Kari Hole, 26th, 1:47.56.
Sawyer Kesselheim and Forrest Mahlen guided the MSU Nordic contingent in the freestyle event with a pair of top ten finishes. Kesselheim placed eighth covering the 10-kilometer course in 34:19.9, while Mahlen was ninth just four-seconds back.
Also contributing for MSU were Martin Muan, 17th, 35:28.9, Noah Anderson, 20th, 36:03.6, and Erik Axelsson, 21st, 36:14.0.
Isabella Smith led the Montana State women, placing ninth and covering the 5K course in 19:25.1. She was followed by Annie Liotta, 11th, 19:42.7, Anika Miller, 15th, 20:19.2, Gretchen Buckholder, 16th, 20:24.5, Julia Hayes, 20th, 20:24.1, and Lina Hultin, 21st, 20:58.0.
