MSU and Bozeman community prepare to welcome students back to Bozeman

Next week, volunteers on behalf of MSU will deliver more than 500 “Welcome Back Bobcats!” kits to businesses in Bozeman.
Montana State University, the Department of Athletics and the Bozeman community have several efforts planned to help welcome MSU students to town when they arrive for the beginning of the academic year.
Next week, volunteers on behalf of MSU will deliver more than 500 "Welcome Back Bobcats!" kits to businesses in Bozeman.
The kits, which include "Go Cats" signs, athletic posters and more, were designed to help local merchants welcome MSU students and their families to Bozeman and celebrate the start of the school year.
"MSU is absolutely thrilled with the response we've received for these kits," said Julie Kipfer, director of marketing at MSU. "This just shows how supportive businesses and non-profit organizations in our community are of MSU."
Students will also be welcomed by a large "welcome" banner over Main Street in downtown Bozeman, a display sponsored by the City of Bozeman, the Downtown Bozeman Association and MSU.
In addition, MSU and community volunteers will be on hand to help students move into the campus residence halls at the annual Move-In Day event on August 20. Last year, volunteers helped more than 2,100 students move into their new campus home.
"The Department of Athletics is proud to work with the university and the city of Bozeman on this great community based initiative. The opportunity to welcome the freshman class and their families to Bozeman is something that we do not take for granted and we look forward to them becoming part of the Bobcat family and for years to come having have a Blue and Gold State of Mind" said Scott Jurgens, Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Operations for Bobcat athletics.
