MSU seniors land National Football Foundation honor
Five Bobcat football players earned induction into the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society Tuesday, the most selections in the Big Sky Conference.
MSU's honorees include the team's three offensive stars – quarterback DeNarius McGhee (Euless, Tex.), a two-time Big Sky Offensive Player of the Year, First Team CoSida Academic All-America Tanner Bleskin (Great Falls), and record-setting running back Cody Kirk (Frenchtown). Defensive end Preston Gale (Forney, Tex.) and reserve offensive lineman Andy Austin (Billings), who also contributed on kick teams, also joined the Honor Society.
MSU's five selections – three of them from the Treasure State – place the Bobcats as one of 14 schools in the FCS with at least that many selections.
