Bobcat Women Drop Opener at CSUN Thanksgiving Tournament

Hommes, a 6-1 junior from Lynden, Washington, finished with a team-high 18 points, while Alexa Dawkins added 12 and Kalli Durham 11. Lindsay Stockton dished out a game-high seven assists.
Cal State Northridge used a strong second half to overcome a four-point halftime deficit to hand Montana State a 78-66 setback in the opening round of the CSUN Thanksgiving Tournament.
Montana State (2-4) held a 37-34 lead at intermission behind 12 points from Jasmine Hommes. However, CSUN (5-0) closed out the game with a 14-6 run over the final six-minutes to remain undefeated on the season.
Hommes, a 6-1 junior from Lynden, Washington, finished with a team-high 18 points, while Alexa Dawkins added 12 and Kalli Durham 11. Lindsay Stockton dished out a game-high seven assists.
For the game, the Bobcats shot 45 percent. MSU shot 55 percent in the opening period and 37 percent in the second half.
CSUN was led by Ashlee Guay with 24 points and Jane Sharpe with 15.
The Matadors also won the battle of the boards, out-rebounding the Bobcats 54-40, including 25 offensive rebounds.
Montana State was led under the glass by Jackie Elliott with 11 rebounds.
MSU will play IUPUI in the third place game at 1 p.m. (MST) on Saturday. The Jaguars dropped a 71-61 decision to Texas Southern on Friday afternoon.
