McGhee Slated to Start at Quarterback for Cats at UND

Cleared medically late in the week, Bobcat senior tabbed to return Saturday
DeNarius McGhee has been ahead of most timelines he's ever been on. It should have surprised no one, then, that he entered Saturday's game at North Dakota as Montana State's starting quarterback, returning a few days ahead of schedule from a separated shoulder that sidelined him the last two games.
Bobcat coahc Rob Ash said the situation developed late. "DeNarius has made steady progress since the injury and we decided Thursday he may have the opportunity to start today," Ash said. "It's no reflection at all on the job Jake Bleskin has done, because he has been terrific, but DeNarius will start against North Dakota today."

The Bobcats also welcome back senior defensive end Preston Gale, making his first start of 2013. Gale was injured late in fall camp, and replaces Odin Coe today as the starting defensive end.

The Cats also experience a ocuple of nujmber changes Saturday. Receiver Shadeed Crockett, a redshirt freshman, makes his debut on the depth chart at outside receiver in #82. He wears #87 at home. Cody Cleveland moves from #15 to #6 this week, which allows he and fellow #15 Austin Barth on the field at the same time.

The Bobcats will face redshirt freshman quarterback Joe Mollberg, a move which was not announced until just before game time. Ash said, however, that he and classmate Ryan Bartels are so similar physically and in their skill set that MSU's defensive mindset doesn't change with the opposing signal caller.
"They are really prototypes of each other," Ash said. "They have both played well, and it's the same offense, the same scheme no matter who's in."

Montana State's game in the Alerus Center Saturday marks its first trip to Grand Forks for a football game since 1983. Much has changed in three decades, but three individuals along today were present in 1983 - color commentator Dan Davies, then a Bobcat assistant; television producer Rip Cook, also in television then, and booster Tommy White, then a Bobcat receiver.
