
"Can the Griz" Food Drive Begins Saturday

MSU teams up with Gallatin Valley Food Bank in annual drive
Help Montana State help the community in the " Can the Griz" Food Drive, benefitting the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. This year marks the 14th annual food drive, an off-field competition between the Bobcats of Montana State and the Grizzlies of Montana, to see which institution and community can collect the most donations for their local food banks. The drive begins Saturday, Nov. 9 and runs through halftime of the CAT-griz football game at Bobcat Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013.
In addition to several drop-off locations on campus and in in the Gallatin Valley, you can also contribute your pledge to by texting "CANS" to 91001.
Last year, MSU and the Bozeman community donated 68,515 pounds of food plus approximately $29,000 to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. Combined, that's a record donation of the equivalent of 86,957 pounds of food. The University of Montana and Missoula community also raised a record amount for the Missoula community's local food bank. Donations from UM and the Missoula community totaled 29,025 pounds of food plus $28,968.40.
