MSU football team also receives championship rings
Montana State's final major spring scrimmage scheduled for Bozeman is only part of what's on tap for MSU football fans in Bobcat Stadium on Saturday.
Before the scrimmage, scheduled for 1:05 pm, the team's 2011 Big Sky Conference Championship rings will be on display. The scrimmage will feature the first offense and second defense teaming up against the second offense and first defense in game-like conditions.
The post-scrimmage portion of the day is likely to have the longest positive effect, however. Bobcat football players, under the auspices of the Gallatin Heart Rescue group, will offer free "hands-only" CPR training. Bobcat players were trained prior to the scrimmage in the life-saving technique, and will demonstrate the method for the public on over 100 CPR training mannequins spread around the Bobcat Stadium field.
The scrimmage itself will feature more analysis of the ground game, said MSU coach Rob Ash. "We're continuing to install more things on both sides of the ball, which means we've asked more of them this week, particularly the offense."
MSU's last major scrimmage of the spring is set for next Saturday, April 21, in Great Falls.
