MSU ushers in new Big Sky format with half-dozen games aired by new TV partner
More than half of Montana State's 11 football games in 2012 air on the Big Sky Conference's new television partner Root Sports, the league announced Tuesday.
Six of MSU's 2012 football games, beginning with its first-ever conference tilt against Southern Utah, appear on Root Sports, part of the DIRECTV Sports Networks. The three Root Sports Networks reach more than 8.7 million viewers across the 18 states that are home to most Big Sky schools - Montana, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah and Colorado.
MSU's October 6 trip to new league member UC Davis is also televised, followed by the Eastern Washington-MSU showdown, the winner of which has won the conference in the last two seasons, in Bobcat Stadium on October 13. Capped by the annual Cat-Griz showdown, MSU's final three games of the season are all televised on Root.
The remainder of MSU's 2012 television schedule will be announced at a later date.
