Idaho native to run for MSU
Montana State Track and Field and Cross Country announced the signing of Rachel Sullivan to a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at MSU.
Sullivan comes to Bozeman from Boise, Idaho, where she is a 2012 graduate of Centennial High School. For the Patriots, she earned four letters in cross country and expects to graduate with four letters in track and field, as well.
Most recently, Sullivan placed fourth at the state cross country meet as a senior and was named the Most Valuable Runner for the Patriots. She was also team captain in 2011.
As a junior, her team placed third at the state track and field meet and was part of the runner-up 4x800 relay. She also came in fifth in the 1,600.
Off the track, she is a member of the National Honor Society and is active in volunteer work.
“I'm really impressed with the progress Rachel has made throughout her high school career,” said head coach Dale Kennedy. “Not only does she contribute to one of the deepest and possibly most talented distance recruiting classes, she also maintains a great balance between academics, running and even volunteering.”
