Montana State senior Andrea De La Torre produced MSU’s only point on Saturday, as the Bobcat women’s tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Utah State, Saturday afternoon in the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.

Montana State senior Andrea De La Torre produced MSU's only point on Saturday, as the Bobcat women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Utah State, Saturday afternoon in the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.

“Despite the final outcome, I thought we played some pretty solid tennis,” said MSU head coach Denise Albrecht. “Especially in doubles, from how we played at Washington State last weekend.”

MSU's No. 3 duo of De La Torre and Gabi Villegas pushed the Aggies the distance and escaped with an 8-7 win over Brianna Rowland and Julie Tukuafu.

De La Torre was also Montana State's highlight in singles play as the native of San Luis Potosi, Mexico notched a straight set 6-2, 6-2 decision over Tukuafu at No. 5. Sophomore Ellie Crum also had a strong performance dropping a 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 decision to Kristina Voytsekhovich at No. 3 singles.

MSU will host New Mexico, Sunday morning at 9 a.m. in the BATC.
