McBroom and Irwin Pace Bobcats at NCAA Giant Slalom Qualifier

Montana State freshman Kelly McBroom continued her second straight day of solid skiing, placing seventh in the women’s giant slalom at the MSU-NCAA Qualifier, Thursday afternoon at Bridger Bowl.

Montana State freshman Kelly McBroom continued her second straight day of solid skiing, placing seventh in the women's giant slalom at the MSU-NCAA Qualifier, Thursday afternoon at Bridger Bowl.
McBroom, a native of Canmore, Canada, notched a two-run total of 1:46.89. She held fifth place after the opening run with a clocking of 52.12.
Tii-Maria Romar of Utah won the event in 1:44.76.
The Bobcat men's team received a top ten finish as senior Geoff Irwin also placed seventh. Irwin completed the two runs in 1:42.94. Michael Radford just missed a top 10 showing, finishing 11th in 1:43.16.
Colorado's Adam Zika won the men's crown in 1:41.07
Friday will mark the opening of the NCAA West Regional/Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association Championships at Bridger Bowl and Bohart Ranch. The Nordic freestyle races will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Bohart Ranch, with the alpine giant slalom event beginning at 10 a.m. on Hanton's Hollow.
