Riopelle Posts Top 10 Finish at MSU-NCAA Slalom Qualifier

Montana State sophomore Marissa Riopelle posted the Bobcats’ only top ten performance at the MSU-NCAA Slalom Qualifier, Wednesday afternoon at Bridger Bowl.

Montana State sophomore Marissa Riopelle posted the Bobcats' only top ten performance at the MSU-NCAA Slalom Qualifier, Wednesday afternoon at Bridger Bowl.
Riopelle placed tenth overall with a two-run clocking of 1:36.47. Denver's Sterling Grant won the race in a time of 1:34.09.
Skiers from the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (RMISA) are using Wednesday's and Thursday's races, along with the NCAA West Regional/RMISA Championship on Friday and Saturday, as opportunities to qualify for the NCAA Skiing Championships, March 7-10, in Bozeman.
MSU freshman Kelly McBroom also had a solid slalom day, notching the fourth fastest time in the second run. The native of Canmore, Canada placed 15th overall in 1:37.62.
The Montana State men's team was led by Michael Radford, who just missed a top 10 finish, placing 11th overall with a two-run total of 1:55.95. New Mexico's Armin Triendl won the event in 1:52.88.
The NCAA Giant Slalom Qualifier will be held on Friday at Bridger Bowl.
