MSU's new end zone complex is sold out of season tickets
The new end zone complex in Bobcat Stadium is weeks away from completion, but the process of selling those seats isn't.
Season tickets in the Bobcat Stadium's newest seating area sold out Tuesday, MSU Athletic Director Peter Fields announced. Bobcat fans snapped up the 2,250 newly-created season tickets three months prior to the team's 2011 home opener (Sept. 10 vs. UC Davis).
In addition to the season tickets, the Bobcat Stadium end zone complex will accommodate 4,100 student seats and 850 Pepsi Zone tickets available on a per-game basis for all but the Cat-Griz game. The end zone seats 7,200 fans, and was funded with private donations along with future ticket revenue.
Fields indicated that the process of selling season tickets in Bobcat Stadium's east grandstand, which formerly seated primarily MSU students, is moving briskly. “We have good seats remaining in those sections at a range of pricing options, and we expect our fans to continue to purchase those seats at a good rate,” Fields said.
The end zone project remains on time and on budget, Fields said, with steel rising from west to east and recently-arrived pre-cast concrete also set in place, leaving less to the imagination each day. “It's exciting to see the end zone take shape,” Fields said. “I want to thank those who contributed to the stadium expansion project, which will enhance the game day experience for our student-athletes, students, and fans.”
