Two Bobcats Earn Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

A pair of Bobcats, tennis player Fletcher Keyes and skier Tyler Reinking, earned Capital One CoSIDA All-District VII At-Large Academic honors for their prowess in the classroom and on the playing field this season.
A pair of Bobcats, tennis player Fletcher Keyes and skier Tyler Reinking, earned Capital One CoSIDA All-District VII At-Large Academic honors for their prowess in the classroom and on the playing field this season.
Bobcat tennis player Fletcher Keyes posted an outstanding senior season, earned Academic All-District VII honors after landing All-Big Sky Second Team honors. The Park City, Utah, product finished 13-8 on the season as MSU's no. two singles player, and 13-8 playing no. one doubles with Pawel Turzanski. Keyes helped lead a Bobcat team tabbed to finish seventh in the league to a fourth-place finish.
Reinking led the MSU ski team to a 10th place finish at the 2011 NCAA Skiing Championships, placing 25th in freestyle and 28th in the classical race. The Silverthorne, Colo., native posted a season-best second place finish in the freestyle at the Denver Invitational and finished seventh overall in the 2011 RMISA MVP Nordic Men's standings. Reinking garnered All America accolades as a sophomore and was a second-team CoSIDA all-district academic honoree.
To be eligible for academic consideration, a student-athlete must be a sophomore and have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher. Both Keyes and Reinking were first-team at-large selections. The at-large area includes tennis, water polo, golf, gymnastics, skiing, lacrosse, fencing, hockey, rifle, wrestling, women's bowling, women's crew, women's field hockey and men's volleyball.
District VII encompasses Division I institutions from Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Both Keyes and Reinking will move on to the national ballot for Academic All America recognition
