Grosulak's knee injury to requre surgery
Montana State lost its 2010 Bill Kollar Defensive MVP Wednesday, when the Bobcat football program learned sophomore linebacker Aleksei Grosulak suffered a knee injury in Great Falls Saturday requiring surgery.
The torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) shelves Grosulak, from Billings, for an indefinite time that MSU coach Rob Ash said will be measured by months. "This hurts a lot," Ash said. "Aleksei is a great player who started for us last year, and when you lose that kind of player it leaves you with a huge hole to fill. We won't have a timetable for his return until (the surgery)."
While senior Roger Trammell, who transferred to MSU last summer, ascends to the top of the depth chart for the time being, Ash said the Bobcats will evaluate all options through the course of the summer.
Grosulak led the Bobcats with 88 tackles last fall, registering 8.0 tackles-for-loss and 2.5 sacks with four pass breakups, three quarterback hurries, two fumbles forced and one recovered.
